I would like to take a few minutes to introduce myself. Having spent 16 years in mainstream secondary schools, the last 5 years as the school SENCo, I decided to specialise in the area of Dyslexia. This decision was in no small part influenced by my own personal experiences. My daughter was diagnosed with Dyslexia in sixth form, following disappointing exam results and many years of her feeling that she never did quite as well as her friends, how ever hard she tried. The relief for her of knowing that she wasn't, as she put it "just stupid", backed up by some specialist tutoring made a huge difference. I now take a great deal of pride and satisfaction from being able to help other young people to realise their potential.
